How to become a certified yoga therapist?

January 8th, 2009
scarlet asked:

I am currently an occupational therapist and I practice yoga daily. I have done a lot of research on yoga therapy and am very interested in it. I am wondering if anyone knows of a credible program where I can become certified in yoga therapy. And also, if anyone know how much time commitment is required. Thanks.

What kind of discipline is Yoga? how does it improve your health and your physical condition?

January 7th, 2009
Popocatepetl asked:

I am willing to start making some exercise, but i cannot make my mind if i should try yoga or go to a gym.
I have never done any sport, i’m bad with that, and i believe i have not a good physical condition, altougth i’m not fat or anything like that.
I am just convinced that i need to make something with my body for healt, and because my work is mostly sitted in front of my computer, and as much as i like it, i know it’s stressing.

We want to learn Yoga in Silicon Valley, Where do you recommend?

January 4th, 2009
lavender-chartreuse asked:

My boyfriend and I are interested in taking yoga training or classes. We’re interested in strength, flexibility, balance, and toning. We are also interested in the meditational, philosophical and spiritual side of yoga. My boyfriend is especially interested in Raja/Tantric training including Kundalini. Do you have any recommended places or teachers we can check out? We live in Silicon Valley in California. Our nearest cities are Sunnyvale, Mountain View, Santa Clara, and Cupertino, but we are open to hearing about places outside those cities if we don’t have too far to drive (San Francisco is too far). If you have any other yoga styles that you would recommend, please let us know too. P.S. Anyone know of a laughing yoga club in the area as well?
P.P.S. I’m not getting any answers to my question…is it too specific? If anyone has ANY yoga class they like, regardless of style, can you recommend it please? Thanks!

How long after a yoga session should I wait to lift?

December 30th, 2008
steve meve lave asked:

I just started doing yoga about a week ago, and I really enjoy how I feel afterward. Since I feel rejuvenated and full of energy after a session, I like to do it in the morning. I like to lift weights or do some cardio in the afternoon or at night if I have the time and energy. But, I read online that doing yoga makes you temporarily weaker because of the static stretching. About how long does this temporary weakness last? A few minutes? Hours? Days?

what are the first steps I need to take to start a yoga clothing line?

December 12th, 2008
girl asked:

I have great ideas for a yoga clothing line, I’ve got the name, designs and business cards , now what? I am not a business person. Do I take my designs to a clothing factory and have them make me samples? Then take the samples I had made to yoga studios and clothing conventions to sell?

What kind of yoga is good for tension?

December 10th, 2008
fly or die asked:

I’ve always had a problem with tension, for apparently no reason. Now that I work long days, by the time I get home it feels like everything shoulder up is just tight, especially my throat and forehead. An advil would do the trick but I don’t want to rely on that. Can anyone recommend some type of yoga, breathing technique, meditation, anything specific? Thanks.
